Why City of God Villages?

The words of Jesus, Son of God, speaking to us   (Think of Him speaking as you read.)

"No one can serve two masters.   Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other.   You cannot serve both God and money.   Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.   Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?   Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.   Are you not much more valuable than they?   Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?   And why do you worry about clothes?   See how the lilies of the field grow.   They do not labor or spin.   Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.   If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, you of little faith?   So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'   For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.   But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.   Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.   Each day has enough trouble of its own.

When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne.   All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.   He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.   Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.   For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'   Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?   When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?   When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you'   The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'   Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.   For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink,   I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'   They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'   He will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'   Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.

If you love me, keep my commands.   And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever, the Spirit of truth.   The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him.   But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.   I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.   Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me.   Because I live, you also will live.   On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.   Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me.   The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.   Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching.   My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.   Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching.   These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.

All this I have spoken while still with you.   But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.   Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.   I do not give to you as the world gives.   Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.   All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.   Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

The words of apostle Paul to the chuch in Corinth, Greece   (and we truly live in Corinth today.)

"What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols?   For we are the temple of the living God.   As God has said: 'I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God,and they will be my people.' Therefore, 'Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.' And, 'I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.'"
